2013 President’s Letter

With spring just around the corner, and the cold weather behind us, the time to start thinking about Maple Manor Swim Club is here! In less time than you can imagine, the pool will be open for another wonderful summer.

The Board of Directors is looking forward to the upcoming season. We have been busy throughout the year getting ready for 2013. As always our goal is to provide a safe, clean and fun club for our membership.

This year for the first time, Maple Manor is offering the ability to make payments online via PayPal. You will be able to pay your dues directly from our web site using a credit card.

Each year we take on several new projects and upgrades. This year we will be painting and refurbishing the upstairs club room. It’s been a few years since our last renovation of the space, and we are looking forward to further utilizing the space. 2012 was the last year of the assessment that paid for the pool filtration and stainless steel gutter system, the new concrete decking, the pool heater etc…

Brandon Pierce will be returning as our club manager for his second year. Brandon has done a fantastic job and is working closely with the personnel committee to make sure we have a guard and snack bar staff that are conscientious, friendly, and always looking out for the safety of our members. Brandon is also again the Head Coach for the swim team.

Maple Manor does not currently have a waiting list, so if you know of family, friends or neighbors that may be interested in joining the time is now! Membership information and application details can be found on our website: www.MapleManorSwimClub.com Tours of the club are available. Since each member of Maple Manor owns a piece of the club, supporting and promoting the club is in your best interest.

A few differentiating facts:

- Maple Manor swim club is the only local club that offers a heated pool.

- Our swim team has been undefeated for over a decade.

- Our pool was completely renovated 3 years ago.

- We offer Wi-Fi access (password protected).

Last year we decided to open the baby pool early on Tuesdays and Thursdays on a trial basis in July and August. We will open the baby pool early in July, and will have a signup sheet to see if opening early on those 2 days per week in August is in demand.

In closing, I want to acknowledge the dedication and service of Suzie Connelly who has stepped down from the Board of Directors. Suzi has been the Maple Manor Swim Club Treasurer for many years. Suzi helped to keep our finances in order, and successfully guided us through many complicated financial times, including our major club and pool renovations. Suzi has played many different roles during her tenure on the Board, always there to help in any way! She is looking forward to enjoying the fun and relaxing times that we hope are had by all the members of Maple Manor.
